Microsoft 365 that works for Roswell teams

Plenty of Roswell offices have Microsoft 365 licenses; far fewer have them tuned properly. We organize your files, secure your accounts and manage your devices so people can work from the office, home or the road.

Why it matters here

Roswell businesses rarely have everyone in one place all week. Practice managers work from home on billing days. Consultants and real estate agents spend more time at client sites than at their desks. Builders and distributors have people in trucks and warehouses. Office parks along GA-400 house many hybrid teams that come in two or three days a week. That only works if email, files and business apps are secure and reachable from anywhere, without a fragile VPN or files emailed back and forth.

What we set up and manage

Microsoft 365 is able to stand in for your file server, desk phones and several other tools, but its default settings leave a lot open. We handle:

  • Email: Exchange Online with strong spam and phishing filters, shared mailboxes for the front desk, billing or orders, and DNS records (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) that make your domain harder to fake.
  • Files: SharePoint and Teams organized around your departments, clients or jobs, with access limited to the right people, and OneDrive for each person's own work.
  • Sign-in security: MFA, conditional access that blocks risky logins, and old sign-in methods switched off.
  • Devices: laptops and phones enrolled in Microsoft Intune, so new machines configure themselves, company data stays encrypted and a lost phone can be wiped remotely.
  • Licenses: each user matched to a suitable plan. Reviews regularly turn up seats for people long gone, or plans that lack the security tools the owner thought were included.
  • Teams: chat, video meetings and, where it makes sense, Teams Phone in place of an old desk phone setup.

Local angles we plan for

Medical and dental offices

Practices need email encryption for messages with patient information, tight control over who can open shared folders, and a signed business associate agreement with Microsoft. We set those up and make sure your health record and imaging software, which often still runs locally, connects cleanly with Microsoft 365.

Small firms that grew quickly

Many Roswell law, accounting and consulting firms started with personal email or a single shared login and never went back to tidy up. We move them to proper business accounts, set up a clean file structure and remove the shared passwords that make audits and departures messy.

Shops and restaurants

Owners on Canton Street often run the business from a phone. We set up company email, shared calendars and document storage that work well on a phone, and protect the owner's account, which is usually the one criminals target first.

Retiring the old server

Plenty of offices still lean on a server purchased back when the staff was much smaller. It stores shared files, user logins and perhaps an accounting database. If it dies, the office goes idle. Shifting files to SharePoint and logins to Microsoft's cloud removes that single point of failure. Not every application can move, though. Some practice management, estimating and accounting systems run best on a local or hosted server. We check each one, talk to the vendor if needed and plan the move in stages, usually after hours, with a way to roll back if something misbehaves.

Internet becomes critical

Once files and phones live in the cloud, your internet connection matters more than any single computer. In most Roswell office parks and around the historic district, more than one cable or fiber carrier is available. We help you choose the main connection and, where downtime would be costly, add a second line from another carrier or a cellular failover.

Microsoft keeps its service running, but protecting your data from deletion, ransomware and departed users is your job. That's why our plans include a separate Microsoft 365 backup.

Ongoing care

Microsoft changes settings and features every month. Some of those changes switch on new sharing options or retire old ones, and a few can quietly expose files if nobody reads the notices. We track those changes, review sign-in alerts and security scores, onboard new hires and remove leavers, and adjust licenses as your staff changes.

Questions about microsoft 365 & cloud

We're on Google Workspace. Should we switch?

Not always. We support both. If Microsoft 365 fits your software, compliance or staff better, we'll explain why and move your email and files without losing anything.

How long does a Microsoft 365 move take?

For 10 to 75 people, plan on two to six weeks of preparation and a weekend cutover. Large file servers or complicated permissions can take longer.
