What we hear from Roswell business owners
Very few Roswell companies set out to design their IT. It piled up as they grew.
The Wi-Fi does too many jobs
Card readers, the guest network, staff laptops and the security cameras all share one router that came from the internet provider. When it hiccups, the whole place stops.
Nobody owns the passwords
A former employee set up Microsoft 365, the domain and the firewall. Logins live in a notebook or someone's personal email, and no one is sure who still has access.
Support is a phone tree
Your current provider is far away or overloaded. Tickets drag on, no one has seen your office in person, and small problems turn into lost afternoons.
Backups are a guess
Something copies files somewhere each night. No one has restored from it, and it may not cover email, the practice software or the laptops people take home.
Four services that cover the whole office
Most Roswell clients bundle all four under one agreement, though plenty begin with a single service and grow into the others.

How recovery worksHow Roswell's business mix shapes its IT needs
Roswell is one of the bigger cities in north Fulton, with 92,833 residents at the 2020 census. Its two main ZIP codes, 30075 and 30076, held 4,082 business establishments with paid staff in 2023, according to the Census Bureau. Most are tiny: about 2,640 have fewer than five people. The group we focus on is the 861 establishments employing between 10 and 249 people. At that size a business has real data, real payroll and real risk, but rarely a full-time IT person.
Medical offices lead the list
By count, the largest group of Roswell businesses is medical, dental and outpatient care, at roughly 423 establishments. Many sit in the medical office buildings along Holcomb Bridge Road and near GA-400, and around Wellstar North Fulton Hospital off Alpharetta Highway. A typical practice runs an electronic health record, digital X-ray or imaging, online scheduling, a phone system and a payment terminal. All of it has to work at 8 a.m., and all of it touches patient data covered by HIPAA.
Professional firms, builders and distributors
The next tier is a broad mix. The same Census data shows about 285 management and consulting firms, 270 real estate offices, 257 construction companies and 203 wholesale and distribution businesses in the two ZIP codes, plus around 100 each of law firms, accounting firms and architecture or engineering firms. Many of these are small partnerships with one or two offices. They handle client files, tax returns, contracts and wire transfers, which makes email security and access control more important than raw computing power.
Historic Roswell and Canton Street
The historic district has a different profile. Restaurants, boutiques, salons, galleries and event spaces along Canton Street and around Roswell Square depend on point-of-sale systems, reservation and ordering apps, and Wi-Fi that guests use too. Older buildings with thick walls and odd layouts make good Wi-Fi coverage harder than in a modern suite. For these businesses the most important IT work is keeping the payment network separate from guest Wi-Fi, making sure the POS and reservations work when the internet drops, and protecting the owner's email from fake vendor invoices.
Office parks off GA-400
Holcomb Bridge Road and Mansell Road connect Roswell to GA-400 at exits 7 and 8, and both are lined with office parks and flex space. Companies there are often regional offices, software and services firms, or distributors with a small warehouse. They tend to need structured cabling, business-grade firewalls, managed laptops for hybrid staff and a plan for the day the server room loses power.
The river is part of the picture
Roswell's southern edge follows the Chattahoochee River, and Big Creek, also called Vickery Creek, runs through the old mill site below the historic district. In September 2009 both rose sharply during the floods that swept metro Atlanta, and FEMA declared a federal disaster for Fulton County. Most offices aren't in a floodplain. But a city that has seen river flooding, ice storms and the 2024 remnants of Hurricane Helene should keep its data somewhere other than a closet next to the front door.
None of this calls for a big IT budget. It calls for someone to learn how your business runs, close the gaps that matter and keep things maintained. That is the job we take on for Roswell clients.

How Roswell businesses usually handle IT
Most of the companies that call us have tried one of the first two approaches. Here's how they compare.
| An employee doing it part-time | An on-call repair person | Sentry Cloud IT | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Help when something breaks | When they have a free minute | When the tech can fit you in | A help desk that knows your systems |
| Updates | Skipped when busy | Done on paid visits | Scheduled, automated and reported |
| Security | Basic antivirus | Depends on who installed what | MFA, email filtering and monitored endpoint protection |
| Backups | Not tested | Installed once, then forgotten | Checked daily and restore-tested |
| Monthly cost | Hidden in lost hours | Varies with every visit | Fixed price agreed after a review |
| Looking ahead | No plan | No plan | Quarterly reviews and a yearly budget |

Questions Roswell businesses ask us
Are you located in Roswell?
Our office is in Alpharetta, just north of Roswell on GA-400. We don't have a Roswell office, but our engineers are close enough to come to your site when a problem needs hands, and most requests are solved remotely.
Do you work with restaurants and shops on Canton Street?
Yes. We set up and support point-of-sale networks, guest Wi-Fi, back-office computers and email for small hospitality and retail businesses, as well as larger offices.
How do you price managed IT?
We quote a fixed monthly price after a review, based on the number of people and devices and the services you pick. Routine help is part of the fee, with no hourly meter running.
Can you replace our current IT company?
Yes. We plan the switch with you, gather admin accounts, licenses and records from the outgoing provider, and keep your staff working while it happens.
See where your IT really stands
In roughly an hour of your time we go through support, security, Microsoft 365 and backup, then send a brief written summary. Hire us or not, that summary stays with you.
